This policy applies to the i23.chat website (https://i23.chat), a work of fiction that is part of the Crime at Home® game.

2. What Data We Process (and What We Don't)

This site has no sign-up, comments, or online store. We don't ask for your name, email, or any other personal details to browse it.

The box on the home page only opens a chat that is already published. The code is sent in the page address and is not stored as an account or as a new message.

As with any HTTP connection, the servers that host this site may record technical details of each request (for example, IP address in server logs, date and time, requested URL, and user agent). These logs are used for security and to keep the service running, not to build marketing profiles.

3. Analytics with Umami (No Cookies)

To understand how the site is used, we collect aggregated, anonymised visit statistics with Umami, installed on our own servers. The browser loads the script from this same domain (/s/script.js) and sends visits to /s/. They are not passed to a third-party analytics provider.

Umami does not use cookies, does not store your IP address or any identifier in your browser, and does not build advertising profiles. Legal basis: the owner's legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. The Language Cookie (and Why There's No Banner)

Analytics does not use cookies. The only cookie is an optional preference cookie: lang. It is created only when you click a language flag (ES or EN), so we can remember that choice. It is not created when you arrive, and it is not created when you enter a code.

It is a strictly necessary or preference cookie: it remembers the language and is not used for tracking or advertising. That's why there is no consent banner. There's no consent choice to make in order to browse.

If we ever add a cookie that is not exempt, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.

5. Recipients and Transfers

We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for analytics or advertising. Hosting and Umami are operated under the owner's control. No international transfer of analytics data to outside providers is planned.

6. Data Retention

Aggregated statistics are kept for as long as they are useful for site statistics. Technical server logs are kept for as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, and are then deleted or rotated following standard system administration practice. The lang cookie expires after about a year, or sooner if you delete it in your browser.

7. Your Rights

Where applicable, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, and data portability, and you can withdraw any consent you have given (this site does not ask for consent for cookies).

To exercise them, email info@crimeathome.com stating which right you want to exercise and how we can contact you. If your request concerns data we do not hold in a way that can identify you (for example, an anonymous page visit), we will let you know.

8. Right to Complain to a Supervisory Authority

If you believe your data is not being processed in line with the law, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD): https://www.aepd.es.

9. Updates to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or the law. The current version is the one published at this URL.
